I enjoy photography. I picked up a mirrorless camera in 2020 and a film camera in 2021. I have since sold the mirrorless camera, but I’ve held onto the film camera because I’ve found that I prefer the limitations. Film has a limited amount of exposures which forces you to be deliberate with the photos you take. A typical role of film has 36 exposures; a typical SD card allows for essentially an infinite amount of photos. Given that I am not a professional hired to capture the perfect shot, I do not need to take 1000 photos in a session and pick out the best. A digital camera tempts me to capture perfection. Film serves to help me capture a moment and nothing more.
